Yvonne Johnson

March 5, 1925 — March 6, 2013

     Yvonne Margurite Shaw Johnson, 88, formerly of Erie, died Wed., March 6, 2013, in North Brook, IL.  She was born March 5, 1925, in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Bernard Shaw and the late Mildred Edwards Shaw Kilfoil.  A 1943 graduate of East High School, Erie, she worked for Hill Mill Dairy Store, in the Payroll Dept. of Reed Mfg., Klein School Cafeteria and was a secretary for Fairview High School, all in the Erie area.  She was baptized at and was a member of First Baptist Church, was a member of Mission Covenant Church, a charter member of Calvary Covenant Church and an associate member of Church of the Cross, all in the Erie area.  In 2004 Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved to Covenant Village of North Brook, IL and became members of North Brook Covenant Church. 

     Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Kenneth L. Johnson; three sons, Donald Johnson and wife Vyvian, Roger Johnson and wife Jeanne and Brian Johnson and wife Terri; a daughter, Darlene McNaughton and husband Tim; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; half sister, Beverly Wilks; and nephew, Terry Shaw. 

     She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin Mark Johnson and a brother, Richard Shaw.

     Friends may attend a graveside service at Erie Cemetery, 2116 Chestnut St., Erie, PA Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. Ed Newton will officiate.  Memorials may be made to Camp Mission Meadows, 5201 Route 430, Dewittville, NY  14728; or to Church of the Cross, 2901 Millfair Rd., Fairview, PA 16415.

     Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA.

     Family and friends are invited to a Time of Fellowship at the Church of the Cross, 2901 Millfair Road, Fairview, immediately following services.
