Wilson Gillespie, age 77, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Jackson, KY on November 13, 1940, a son of the late Woodrow and Naomi Bush Gillespie.
Wilson had been a truck driver, which he loved, for Regal Services for 50 years until his retirement. He earned many awards for safe driving, never having had a ticket or accident. He then worked for U.S. Security Associates for the past 10 years. He loved the outdoors and traveling. Wilson rode a Harley Davidson and enjoyed watching motorcycle racing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Christine Gillespie, and his daughter Brenda.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Stapp Gillespie; two sons Donnie (Kimberly) Gillespie, of McKean, PA, and Woodrow “Woodie” Gillespie and his partner, Michael Boehler, of Butler, PA; two step daughters, Danisha Stapp-Seawright and Desiree Stapp-Landingham; five grandchildren, Bryan, Christopher, and Justin Gillespie, Kayla Conley and Angela McKay; seven great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St., Erie, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. James Stapp, Jr. presiding.
