Wilma Castiglione

Wilma “Willie” L. Burden, age 90, of Erie, died Friday, November 29, 2013.

Born in Alliance, OH on October 28, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Bess Hagen Burden.

She moved to Erie from Madison, WI in 1972 and had worked in the printing department of the Erie County Court House

11 years before taking early retirement in 1983.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant since 1972 where she was a church volunteer.

Willie as she was known to all her friends was a sponsor of many organizations.

She sponsored a child at St. Jude Children’s Hospital for many years; sponsored a child for a shopping trip over the

Christmas Holidays; sponsored the Veteran of Foreign Wars, helping to buy wheelchairs and other equipment; and

sponsored a child through the Christian Children’s Foundation.

She is survived by a son, G. Carl Castiglione of Harrisonburg, VA; two sisters, Velma Ferguson of Erie and Irene Wymer

of Ravenna, OH.

No calling hours nor service will be observed.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
