Willie "Joe" Lee Bush

Reverend Willie Lee Bush (AKA) Joe Bush gained his wings on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the age of 81.

He was born February 14, 1944, to the late Joe Bush Jr. and Rosie Bell Sanders Showers as well as his late stepfather, John Showers. He was a guitar and saxophone player as well as a Minister of the Gospel. He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Erie, PA under the Reverend Willie L. Sanders.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bush Jr. and Rosie Bell Sanders Showers; his brothers, John Stewart aka Little Son, Roy Hollis Sr., Johnny B Showers (Hattie Showers) and stepbrother, John Showers aka Boy John; his sisters, Aldonia Showers Tate, Lula Bell Bush Sanders, Mary B. Bush Tate and Susie Mae Showers; his granddaughter, Shaniqua Bush and grandson. He is further preceded by his first wife, Bertha Winters Bush and his second wife, Ida Bush.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Bush and Emmanuel Bush, both of Erie PA; stepsons, Bruce Winters, of Middleburg FL, Kenneth Winters, John Winters and Denarse Marsh, all of Erie; his daughter, Doris Bush, of Kosciusko, MS; two stepdaughters, Brenda Hubbart and Kimberly Winters, of Erie; his grandchildren, Emmanuel Nixon Bush, Brianna lashe Bush, Maya Elyse Bush, Dezirae Ann Pifer, Justin Isaiah Quick; his great granddaughter, Hazel Bush and his grandchildren in Mississippi.

He is also survived by his brother, Archie Lee Bush (Robin), of Erie; his sisters, Annie B Gavin ,of Erie and Addy Jean Dooley of Columbus, MS; sister-in-laws, Hattie Showers and Beatrice Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
