Williams Betty

Betty M. Williams age 89 of Erie, passed away at her residence on April 6, 2017. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Burdette and Mary King Bane.

She was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School and attended Kent State University where she studied Home Economics.

Betty loved decorating her home and was an avid antique collector. She enjoyed gardening and her various garden clubs. She and her late husband Harold enjoyed traveling for many years. By far the love of her life was her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Harold, Betty was preceded in death by her son, David Williams in February, 2017.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Rhodes and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, PA and Nancy Bloom and her husband, Mike of Helena, MT; and three sons, Gary Williams and his wife Marcia, Donald Williams and his wife Peggy and Richard Williams and his wife Joanne, all of Erie, PA. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510 on Sunday, April 9th from 2 PM until 4 PM and Monday, April 10th from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 11. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital of Erie, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
