William Smith

Will Smith, age 38, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June18, 2016. He was born on May 9, 1978 at Hamot in Erie, son of Sally L. Smith and the late Donald E. Peters.

Will had worked at Quality Markets in Erie as a Store Manager for many years until the store closed. At that time he started at TOPS Markets as a Store Manager. He was also employed at UTZ potato chips as a delivery driver and North Eastern Uniforms as a Store manager until the store closed. Will was most recently employed at the new PriceRite as an Assistant Store Manager. Will was loved by all of his coworkers and was a wonderful leader and friend. He was an extremely hard worker for his family.

Will enjoyed working around the house building and fixing things and doing yard work. He also enjoyed playing “mush” softball, co-ed softball and bowling. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirates fan. He loved Harry Potter and Superman. Most importantly he loved spending time with his children and family. Will was a very loving, sensitive, witty man and a great friend. He would do anything for anyone who needed it. He will NEVER be forgotten!

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roy A. Smith.

Will is survived by his mother Sally and his stepfather Ralph Jones, his most recent wife, Jamie Quinn Smith Magee, his children and the loves of his life Alexis Walburn and Austin Smith and Tyler and Carolyn Magee, and his grandson and light of his life Landon James. Also survived by his former wife Shelly Ann Smith, his twin brother Sargent First Class Willard Smith (Pamela), his sister Tammy Smith (Tommy), his maternal grandmother, Joan Smith, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, on Thursday from 5 pm until the time of service at 7:30 PM.

Memorials may be to the family in care of Burton Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie PA 16510.
