William Sheffer

William John Sheffer, age 52, of West Springfield, PA passed from this world on December 31, 2016 to his Eternal Home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born May 29, 1964 in Union City, PA, John was the son of William Jack Sheffer (Judy) of Edinboro, PA, and Colleen Lagan Sheffer Osborn (Gary) of Fairview, PA.

John was a graduate of General McLane High School and attended Edinboro University.

The owner of Glass Factor, John began his career in stained, leaded, and etched glass in 1991. After working for years as a glass designer, painter, sandblaster, and craftsman, he opened his own studio in 2002 in Cleveland Ohio, and in 2006 relocated Glass Factor to West Springfield, PA, not far from where he grew up. John was a master craftsman whose creations are displayed in churches, public and private organizations, and private homes. John wanted his work to bring joy to those who viewed it.

John was a member of Erie Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed his friends, family, gardening, annual trips to Cedar Point, and especially his work.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by a brother, David Sheffer and his wife, Diane of North East, PA; a sister, Christine Sheffer Krohn of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and a nephew, Dustin Krohn and his wife Kimberly of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Following John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Erie Christian Fellowship Church on January 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of W. John Sheffer to Erie Christian Fellowship Church 5900 Sterrettania Road, Fairview, PA 16415 or Pleasant Ridge Manor Friends Forever 8300 Ridge Road, Girard, PA 16417.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the many friends who offered their prayers and support, and to the staff of Pleasant Ridge Manor for their loving care of John.
