William Loose

William David Loose, Jr., age 72, of Erie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by "his girls," on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Rochester, Minn., on May 26, 1945, the son of the late Dr. William D. and Elaine Cleveland Loose. 

David was a 1963 graduate of McDowell High School and went on to earn a degree in History from Alderson Broaddus University. In October of 1967, he enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve our country in the Vietnam War, with an honorable discharge in 1970. 

David Loose Jr., CFP, CLU, ChFC was a founding Partner and Financial Advisor for a local Ameriprise Financial group. His career spanned 45 years, and in 2011, he was admitted into Ameriprise Financial's Top-100 Hall of Fame. David was a longstanding member of the Erie Yacht Club, where he enjoyed sailing and racing his sailboat, "Let It Loose." David loved to travel, ski, golf, and was a gifted ballroom dancer. Above all, he was a wonderful, loving husband and father who adored his family. 

David is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara Guzowski Loose; his daughters, Amanda H. Loose Nagle (husband Alex Nagle) and Holly A. Loose (fiancé Andrew Stanko); his granddaughter, RoseMae Harper Nagle; and sister, Diana Cleveland Greig, all from Erie. He is further survived by his Golden Retriever, "Lacey," whom he loved dearly.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St., in Erie, on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., and are invited to a prayer service there on Tuesday, December 12 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Fairview.
