William Logan

Mayor William "Budd" Logan, age 67, of Girard, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at his residence surrounded by family. Born in Erie, PA, on December 6, 1945, he was a son of the late Leonard Jeremiah and Marilyn Schmieder Logan.

Budd attended McDowell High School, completed Paramedic Training at Gannon, and Union Leadership at Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Navy and discharged in 1965. He was a CNC Machinist for 34 years at Copes Vulcan, Inc. Budd was also a paramedic and Chief of Operations and current president of the West County Paramedic Association. He was the current Mayor of Platea Boro for 10 years, and the current Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Tri-State Rail Credit Union for five years. Budd also worked part time at Burton Funeral Homes for the past 10 years.

He was a member of Cranesville United Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Mason and member of Lake Erie Lodge No. 347 F.&A.M., Girard, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie, Girard American Legion Post 494, and IAM & AW Lodge 938. He was a fast pitch pitcher in the City Recreation League and modified fast pitch in the Millcreek Recreation League. Budd also played for Copes Vulcan from 1972 to 2010 and was nicknamed "No Hit Logan".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Adriane Logan, and two brothers: Teddy Reisdorph and Steve Logan who was Missing in Action.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years Gloria Leupold Logan; two daughters: Katrina Michael and her husband Steve, Korena States and her husband LeRoy; six sons: Todd Daniels and Helen, Craig Daniels, William Logan, Jr. and his wife Kim, Kirk Daniels and his wife Heidi, Adam Logan and his wife Brandi, Kyle Logan and his wife Katie; grandchildren: Steve and Kristen Michael, Tricia and Douglas (D.J.) Hedglin, Tyler States, Dalton and Alec Daniels, Cullen Smith, Vance Logan, Alex and soon to arrive Aria Logan; great grandchildren: Trinity, Dillon and Arianna Richardson; two sisters: Sharon and Tina; two brothers: Ray and Jerry Logan; and close friends Dave and Rita Barnhart.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until the 8 p.m. service by the Lake Erie Lodge No. 347 F.&A.M., followed by a funeral service with Rev.
