William J. “Hutch” Hutchinson, age 76, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence.
Hutch was born on January 19, 1945, in Erie, a son of the late William and Doris Dover Hutchinson.
He graduated Lawrence Park High School class of 1963. After graduation, Hutch worked at Ameridrives Couplings, formerly Zurn Industries. Hutch enjoyed following politics, and IndyCar racing. His gardening skills were impeccable; Hutch’s elaborate backyard Japanese garden designs put him in the class of a Master Gardener.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Devies; and a son, William Shope.
He is survived by his son, James Carlini, of Palm Bay, FL; a sister, Billie Dibble, of Erie; two nieces, Jeannie Gresh (Edward), of Edinboro, and Katie Dibble, of Erie; a nephew, Robert Dibble Jr., of Edinboro; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W 10th St, Erie 16502, on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 3:00 until time of service at 5:00 officiated by Reverend Harry Johns. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott.
All CDC guidelines will be followed including wearing masks and social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
