William Hiles

William J. Hiles, age 72, of Erie, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born in Erie, February 26, 1950, a son of the late Robert and Alice Amberson Hiles.

William graduated from McDowell High School, before enlisting in the United States Navy. After his time in the Navy, He worked as a CNC Machinist for Smith Meters, and FMC. He loved spending time with his family, going to lunch, riding 4-wheelers, hunting, fishing, camping, and collecting beach glass. He was an excellent cook, and loved to watch TV.

William is survived by his wife, Leora Pulos Hiles, his children, Lisa Stanley (Jerry), William Hiles (Kate), and Jennifer Richardson (John). He is survived by his stepchildren, Leora Weilacher (Terry), John McGuire Jr., Daniel McGuire (Jeanette), and Deborah Greiner (Scott). William is further survived by his grandchildren, Elizabeth Hiles, James Hiles, Megan Richardson, Austin Zeitler (Chloe), Taylor Marzka (Travis), and his great grandchildren, Brayden Marzka, Kirk Zeitler, and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Hiles (Betty), and Richard Hiles (Bonnie Zahn).

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Potter Hiles.

Friends are invited to call on the family Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 West 10^th Street, Erie. A funeral service will be held there, Friday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
