William "Bill" John Long

William “Bill” John Long, age 81, but forever 39, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, two days shy of his 82nd birthday, at his residence following a house fire.

He was born in Kane, PA on January 17, 1942, a son of the late Glen Edward and Alva Alverta Johnston Long.

William graduated from Northwestern High School, enlisted in the National Guard, and then went on to work at PHB for 27 years.

He was a very simple man and was a self-taught handy man. William was always willing to help anyone and was a wonderful human with a kind soul. He loved taking care of wildlife and his pets. You would never find him without his camo pants and hat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, whom he married on May 29,1964; a son, Timothy W. Long; two sisters, Sonya Leopold, and Doreen Benton; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Klemm Long.

William is survived by his three daughters, Theresa Fullerton of Waterford, Tina Dunar (Mark) of Girard and Tammy Totleben (Ed) of Erie; grandchildren, Joshua Fullerton (Chelsey), Jessica Bish (Brian), Zachary Dunar, Samantha Baxter (Josh) and Devin Totleben; great-grandchildren: Ben, Madi, Adalind and Oliver Fullerton, Kodi, Aary, Hunter, Emily, Max, Mason and Sophia Bish, and a brother, E. Dennis Long of Tallahassee, FL. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th Street on Saturday, January 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
