Erie

Wendy Joy Beardsley-Lee, of Erie, Pennsylvania, died on March 8, 2024 after a brief illness at the age of 70 with her loving daughter Jamie Lynn at her side.

Wendy was born in Pittsburgh on February 17, 1954 to Roger and Patricia Hyde. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1972 and soon after attended modeling school in North Carolina. After a near-fatal automobile accident forced a career change, undaunted, Wendy enrolled at Edinboro State, majoring in business management and economics. In the years that followed, Wendy spent time living in Indiana, as well as several years in Colorado before eventually returning home to her beloved home state of Pennsylvania.

Wendy was a life-long hobbyist, always busy crafting and creating, frequently working on cross-stitch projects and the like, which she enjoyed gifting to friends and family. She was an avid reader, always keen to discuss books and writers with her fellow book lovers. She enjoyed baking, and cherished her dog Colby, who was her constant companion and brought her much joy.

Wendy is survived by her daughters, Jamie Gardiner and her husband Casey Gardiner and her 4 cherished grand puppies Cheddar, Rex, Lincoln and Denali of Erie, and Jacquelynn Massoud (Olivier) of Brighton, England; sisters Tracey Hyde of Avila, Indiana, and Beverlee Hyde of Sacramento, California. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward Justin Lee; brother, Roger James “Jay” Hyde Jr.; her mother, Patricia “Patsy” Hyde; and her father, Roger James Hyde Sr.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
