Wendell Gilbert

Wendell Philip Gilbert, age 87, of Erie, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Brevillier Village.

He was born in Oil City, PA on February 23, 1929, the son of the late William and Gertrude Shattenberg Gilbert.

He attended School in Oil City. He attended Faith Lutheran Church.

Wendell enjoyed hunting and fishing and repaired small engines as a hobby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Gilbert.

He is survived by a sister in law, Lois Gilbert of Erie; two nephews Bill Gilbert and David Gilbert and several cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brevillier Village for their exceptional love and care they gave to Wendell.

Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Seneca, PA on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
