Wayne P. Britton, age 73, of Erie, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Oil City, PA on June 15, 1947, a son of Melvin and Genevieve Miller Britton.
He graduated from Oil City High School. Wayne retired from General Electric Co. and Triangle Tech. He worked as a supervisor in the Manufacturing Engineering area at G.E. and taught manufacturing design classes at Triangle Tech. He also taught classes at The Regional Career & Technical Center, EIT, Gannon and The Industrial Resource Center and Cam-Tech.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Gefre.
He is survived by his wife, Jane L. Hartzell Britton; two brothers, Gerald Britton and his wife Karen, and Melvin Britton and his wife Betty; four children, Charles Britton and his wife Judy of Statesville, North Carolina, Richard Britton and his wife Carrie of Erie, Jennifer Saxton and her husband Stephen of Erie, and Jeremy Britton and his wife Christina of Erie. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Alicia, Zachary, Jonah, Emma, Joshua and Aaron Britton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Inurnment will be in Whispering Pines Cremation Garden.
