Wayne Bowersox, Sr.

Wayne W. Bowersox, Sr., age 78, of Erie, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in New Kensington, PA on November 7, 1943 a son of the late Melvin and Celia Parks Bowersox.

Wayne graduated from Strong Vincent High School and worked for Kaiser Aluminum for more than 30 years before retiring in 1997.

Wayne enjoyed fishing and loved everything to do with electronics.  But his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Millgan Bowersox, and a son, Tommy Bowersox.

He is survived by five children, Wayne (Sandy) Bowersox, Jr., Rose (Bill) Denning, Robert (Belinda) Bowersox, David (Rhonda) Bowersox and Tammy (David) Lucas; ten grandchildren, Katie, Maria, Davie, Cheryl Ann, T.J., Diane, Bobby, Joshua, Wayne and Andrew. As well as many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings and other family members.

Services and burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to Ukrainian relief efforts at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church.
