Wanda Will, age 80, of Erie passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at UPMC Hamot after a brief illness.
She was born in Erie on May 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Stephen and Rose J. Gua Patalita.
After she graduated from Academy High School, Wanda worked at General Electric and then worked with her husband at Will’s General Store. Later on she worked as a teacher’s aide teaching reading at Wattsburg High School. Wanda was an avid reader and enjoyed baking wedding cakes and making Christmas candy. She also enjoyed cruising in her husband’s Chrysler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George J. Will, five children: Jeffrey Will and his wife Pam, George Will, III, Mark Will and his wife Patty, Christine Will Yount and her companion Charlie Karash and Matthew Will and his wife Lisa, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Wanda will be dearly missed by her family. The family would also like to thank the staff of UPMC Hamot for their care and kindness.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
