Virginia Johnson Westergren, 93, formerly of Erie, PA and Wesley Chapel, FL, died on Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Hanover, PA. She was born on March 17, 1923, in Erie, daughter of the late Henry and Hazel Neff Johnson.
A 1940 graduate of Academy High School, she retired from Lord Corporation in 1985 after many years. Mrs. Westergren was a lifetime member of Calvary Evangelical Covenant Church, Erie, where she sang in the choir. She belonged to the SVEA Lodge, No. 296, VASA Order of America, the Glenwood Heights Garden Club, and was also a longtime Hamot Aid Volunteer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl Runee Westergren, in 1997; and by one brother, Carl Raymond Johnson.
Survivors include a daughter with whom she resided, Carla R. Conklin and husband Douglas J. Conklin of Hanover, PA; two granddaughters, Natalie Conklin of Wesley Chapel, FL and Emily Field and husband Derek Field of Pensacola, FL; two great-granddaughters, Reese and Vanna Field of Pensacola, FL; a sister-in-law, Olive Johnson of Harborcreek, PA; and two nieces, Denise Johnson of Erie and Darcy Renner and husband David Renner of North East.
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 2 p.m. until the time of a service there at 4 p.m. The Rev. Philip Conklin will officiate.
