Virginia Schenker

Virginia R. Schenker, age 87, of Erie, passed away on May 28, 2013.

She was born on June 8, 1925 in Erie, PA daughter of Donald and Blanche Unger Kirsch.

Virginia was a graduate of Academy High School and worked as a cashier at Platz Market for many years.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed yard sales and estate auctions.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Theodore Morehouse, a son Dennis Morehouse and a grandson TJ Morehouse. Her second husband of 27 years Robert H. Schenker preceded her in death as well.

Survivors include a daughter Dianne Thompson (John) of Erie, PA; two sons James Morehouse (Val) of Albion, PA and Marc Schenker (Karen) of Abingdon, MD, a granddaughter Morgan Schenker, a grandson Simon Schenker, and a great grandson Wyatt Schenker.

Services were private and held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to the Village at Luther Square, 149 West 22nd Street, Erie PA 16502.

The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and aides of Luther Square for the excellent care given to our mother.
