Virginia Ann Frost Montowski, age 64, of Erie, passed peacefully from this world on Monday, March 11, 2019, at UPMC Hamot, after a long struggle with multiple health issues. She was born on September 8, 1954, and was known as Ginger by her closest friends.
She and her late husband, Phil, spent several years in the Cleveland area. Her most memorable moment was when she danced in the Nutcracker with the Cleveland Ballet.
Ginger earned two masters degrees and worked in the information technology field both at the Cleveland Clinic, and upon moving to Erie, at St. Vincent Health System.
A lover of nature, she especially enjoyed horses and horseback riding; she collected angels and teddy bears, and was a lifelong learner. She attended church and Bible studies whenever her health allowed, and in her later years, was active in a card writing ministry where she would send encouraging thoughts and Bible verses to others who were elderly or ill.
Ginger confessed with her mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in her heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). She therefore put her hope and trust in the Lord for her salvation and is now spending the rest of eternity in heaven.
As the Bible she loved so greatly states, in Revelation 21:4, Ginger is no longer struggling or suffering, no more is she crying or in pain. Instead, she has been given a new healthy body and most importantly, has heard the words all believers long to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 24th 2019, 3:00 p.m. at First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Rd, Erie, PA 16506.
Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St., Erie.
