Virginia Chiarizio

September 11, 1925 — September 27, 2014

Virginia Dahlstrand Chiarizio, age 89, of Lakeview, NY and formerly of Erie and East Springfield died on Saturday September 27, 2014 at Autumnview Nursing Home in Hamburg. She was born in Corry, PA on September 11, 1925 daughter of the late Henry and Anna Taylor Dahlstrand.

Virginia graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1943. She worked at Peggy Gray’s Candies. She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Girard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Chiarizio; eight sisters, Dorothy Freeburg, Ann Louise Pfeffer, Betty Bertram, Marjorie Resta, Florence Woodworth, Phyllis Sutto, Patricia Campbell, and Jeanette LaKari, and two brothers, David and John Dahlstrand.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Joseph) Constantino of Lakeview, NY; three sons, James (Peggie) Chiarizio of Foley, AL, Jerry (Colleen) Chiarizio of Monroeville, PA, and Jeffrey (Lori) Chiarizio of Freeland, WA; eleven grandchildren, Brian, Carrie, James, Juliet, Joy, Joelle, Emily, Joel, Bethany, Brandon and Tessa; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne Dahlstrand of Erie, Jacqueline Barber of Colorado; a sister-in-law Anna Dahlstrand Daniels; and a brother Charles Dahlstrand of Harrisburg, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, 602 W. 10th St., Erie, PA 16502, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend services on Wednesday October 1 at 10am at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 950 W. 7th Street, Erie, PA 16502. Burial will be private.
