Vincent "Jimmy" Liberatore, age 90, of Erie, died on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at Sarah Reed Retirement Center.
Jimmy was born in Erie on October 6, 1922, a son of the late Giovanni and Lucia Pace Liberatore.
He graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1942 and served in the United States Air Force from 1944-1946.
He lived in Erie, PA all his life working as a surveyor for the City Engineering Department and then selling shoes at Halle's Department Store and Richard's Shoe Store.
Jimmy like to golf and loved antiquing with his buddies. Many will remember him walking daily on State Street with his cigar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Kay White, Josephine DeSarro, Hilda DeSantis, and Florence Pontoriero; and three brothers: Anthony, Peter, and John Liberatore.
He is survived by his daughter Diane Farver of Erie; four grandchildren: Denise Farver of San Francisco, CA, Holly Farver of Whitefish, MT, Shawn Farver of Cleveland, OH, and Christopher Farver of Erie; and one great grandson: Keegan Farver. He is further survived by a sister Mary Sabbatine, a brother Ricardo Liberatore, and many nieces and nephews.
Private arrangements at Jimmy's request were handled by Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road.
Interment in Whispering Pines Cremation Garden.
