Vickie Aola Blasco

July 24, 1954 — September 19, 2023

Vickie Aola Blasco, age 69, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday September 19, 2023, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She was born in Meadville, PA on July 24, 1954, a daughter of the late Blair and Ruth Knapp Stafford. She was a graduate of Cambridge High School.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, John Janosky.

Vickie is survived by her sons, Joshua Blasco and his wife Jami of East Springfield, Brian Fink of Strongsville, Ohio and Donovan J. Laskos and his wife Megan of McKean; her daughter, Angela Ciotti and her husband Barrie of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Caitlin, Joseph, Lilith, Auslynn, Jared and Jonah; four great grandchildren, Evelynn, Aurora, Asher and Ember; her sisters, Jeanette Watkins and Kimberly Butler; her brother Richard Stafford and several nieces and nephews.

A mother is the first true love for a child. Her presence in life is one that is unique in everything she does. With every graceful and gentle step, it is what defines every mother. Our mother on the other hand, we believe our mother did more. Mom was dignified in her flaws. In every imperfection she had she bore it all with pride. With every pleasant stride she took, it was deftly followed with two more imperfect missteps.  It is what made her who she was. She was unabashedly herself. She is, was, and always will be Vickie. Her life is the embodiment of hard work, hard truths, and brutal honesty. A woman who drew the attention of many. In living her life the way she did she showed us to never be ashamed of who we are and to always be our truest selves or else it would be a life lived in regret. Imperfections and honesty are what make us all who we are, so please in honor of our mother, be who you are. Never water yourself down to be more palatable for others. BE YOU. We are honored to have had Vickie as our mother. She was a hell of a woman and an absolute whirlwind of a mother, and we wouldn't have had it any other way.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home 525 Main Street East Girard, PA.

Memorials may be made to Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center, 5439 W. Lake Road, Erie, PA 16505.
