Valeriy Malzewski

Val Malzewski, age 68, of Erie, died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at St. Mary’s East following a lengthy illness.

Born in Kirchdorf, Germany on June 24, 1946 he was the son of the late Alex and Katherina Malzewski.

A graduate of Summit High School in Summit, NJ, Val was a graduate of Thiel College in Greenville, PA. He

was self employed in Equipment Leasing.

He had a love for history and enjoyed reading.

Val is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna M. Nies Malzewski; his children, Michelle Bleicher and

her husband Stefan, of Erie and Mark Malzewski and his wife Kerry, of Trumbull, Conn. He is further survived

by his four grandchildren, Natalie, Julia and Ian Bleicher and Peyton Malzewski.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and are

invited to a Prayer Service there Saturday at 10:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church

421 E. 38th Street at 11am with the Reverend John Malthaner celebrant.

Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
