Darlene Black Jackson, age 54, of Fairview, lost her battle on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at MaGee Woman’s Hospital in Pittsburgh after a tough fight with ovarian cancer for almost two years.
She was born in Dunkirk, NY on April 18, 1961 the daughter of Charles Black and his wife Donna of Erie and Vera Bromley Black Rathbun and her husband Ron of Corry, PA.
She graduated from General McLane High School in 1979.
Darlene was a member of the Fairview Fire Department Auxiliary and was Past President.
She loved being a mom and was her kid’s biggest racing fan. She enjoyed doing crafts and cooking.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Emery Black.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 32 years, P. “Scott” Jackson; her children, Philip S. and Beckie L. Jackson; six siblings, Chuck, Mary, Chris, Lisa, Val, and Wendy; brother in law, David Jackson and his wife Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home 525 Main Street East, Girard on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a service on Saturday at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Road, at 10am. with Rev Keith Sundberg officiating.
Inurnment at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
