Tyler P. Covato age 23, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 suddenly after a work related accident.
He was born in Erie on September 16, 1992, a son of Shari Schick Cavato of Erie and Christopher Covato of Naples, FL.
Tyler graduated from McDowell High School in 2011 where he was a standout football player and wrestler. He attended Akron University and Gannon University.
Tyler had only been working for the City of Erie for two weeks and had worked security for numerous places.
Anyone who met Tyler could immediately tell he had a huge heart. He had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. Tyler enjoyed lifting, fishing, jet skiing, roller hockey, golfing, music and travel. He was always working hard to improve himself to achieve his dream of playing professional football, and for the past two years he was a defensive tackle for the Erie Express Football Team, where he continued to live out his dreams, building many friendships, and extend his family. He strived to be the best he could be, not only for himself, but for his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin J. Schick and Phillip Covato and his wife Inez.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Cara Covato of Erie, who was truly his best friend; his grandmother, Betty Schick of Erie; half-brother, Lander Covato of Naples, FL; his stepmother, Dina of Naples, FL; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He is further survived by his dogs, Coco and Capone, who he loved so much.
