Twila Newhard

Twila Hayden Newhard, age 92, of Millcreek, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She was born November 18, 1929 in New Castle, PA to the late John P. and Mary Marshall Hayden.

Twila graduated from New Castle High School in 1947. She owned and operated Twila’s Beauty Shop in New Castle, PA and enjoyed crafts, sewing and camping.

In addition to her parents, Twila was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis C. Newhard in 1999; sisters, Elaine Voight and Hazel Matthews; brother, John Patrick Hayden and daughter-in-law, Pauline Newhard and infant great-granddaughter, Heidi Bartkowski.

She is survived by her sons, Stanley D. Newhard, Sr. (Jane) of Millcreek, Charles M. Newhard of Irwin, PA and Rev. Keith B. Newhard (Michelle) of Littleton, CO. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 West 26^th Street, Erie, PA 16506 from 3 to 5 p.m. and are invited to a service of committal on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Loomis Cemetery in Lincolnville, PA, officiated by her son, The Reverend Keith B. Newhard.

The family would like to thank Lakeland Hospice, Pleasant Ridge Manor and Optum Comfort Care for their care and concern for Twila in her last days.
