Tory Gore

Tory Dupree Gore, age 47, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Erie, PA, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital.  He was born in Erie, August 16, 1975, a son of David Ragland and Linda Jewell Gore Moorer. 

Tory resided in Erie with his mother and sister for 30 years, until moving to San Diego.  He was a 1993 graduate of East High School and went to the Erie Business Center for bookkeeping. Later, he obtained his Electrical Journeyman License in San Diego, where he worked as an industrial electrician at a naval shipyard. Tory was a family-oriented man, a very dedicated son, and wonderful brother, who enjoyed playing chess, reading, puzzles, and bowling.  

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Luther “Coonie” Gore, grandmother, Lummie Gore, uncles, John Luther, and James “Shug” Gore, as well as aunts, Yvonne and Carol Gore.  

Tory is survived by his mother, Linda Jewell Gore Moorer, sister, Talia Gore-Prince (Ralston), of San Diego, CA, brother, Nicholas Gore (Shirley), of Chicago, IL, his partner of 18 years, Tiffany Cager, of San Diego, CA and their daughters, Toriyah Divine Rose Gore, Toray’la Mary Denise Gore, and Michelanie Lorene Butler, as well as 2 grandchildren. He is further survived by his uncles, Charles Gore (Jaqualine Armstrong), of Conyers, GA, Vincent Gore, and aunts, Mary Alice Johnson, Denise Gore, and Brenda Gore, all of Erie. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends Shawn Duck, Latiff Logan and his childhood best friend Dorian Barnes who remained by his side when he became ill until his passing.   

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10^th St., Erie on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 3:00 until 7:00 and are invited to a funeral service at Second Baptist Church, 757 E. 26^th St., Erie, on Tuesday, January 10^th at 12 Noon.  Burial will follow in Erie Cemetery.
