Thomas H. Quinn entered this world on Saturday, June 8, 1929. He was a loving baby boy, born to the proud parents of Ezra V. Quinn and Albirda Vanning-Quinn in Yazoo City, Mississippi. In his formal education, he matriculated through the State of Mississippi-Morgan County Public School System. He graduated from Jessup Wakeman Scott High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology at Toledo Bible College.
Pastor Quinn retired as a driver for Food Town Industries in Toledo, Ohio after 21 years of service. He accepted his Divine call to the Ministry and served as Pastor of the St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church of Meadville, Pennsylvania from 1987-1994. Per the leading of the Lord, he planted the Open-Door Church and New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Erie, Pennsylvania and has gracefully served as the Under-shepherd for 26 years.
He departed this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11:33 PM in the University of Toledo Medical Center with his wife by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his spouse, Mrs. Etta Cunningham-Quinn; his children Evangelist Leona Stewart of Plainfield, IL, Debra Quinn and Denise Hobson(Bryne) both of Toledo, OH and son Hurkey Quinn Jr. of Las Vegas, NV. He was blessed with a blended family which included children Lelitia Wilson, Darrel, Amere, Johnathan and Cleveland Williams Jr. (Gail) of Toledo, OH; Franklin Williams of Charlotte, NC; Forty-three grandchildren, Forty-three great-grandchildren and Seventeen great great-grandchildren. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and the family of New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.
Friends may call Mt. Ebal Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of the services at 11:30 AM with Pastor Cleveland Ulmer Officiating. The Burial will take place at the Erie Cemetery Association. Memorials may be made to Leona Stewart.
