Thomas M. ‘Grizzly” Shreffler, age 71, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday June 2, 2015 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on July 5, 1943 in Titusville, PA a son of the late Merle and Lois Eggleston Shreffler. Following his graduation from McDowell High School, Tom enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Tom was a tool and die maker employed at Johnson Controls (formerly Quinn Berry and Hoover Universal) for over 20 years.
Tom had a passion for travel, antiquing, and was a Civil War buff. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Douglas Shreffler and his sister Carol McKenna.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Kathleen (Finnegan) Shreffler; two sons, Mark Shreffler, his wife Mary and their daughter Emily of IN; and Todd Shreffler, his wife Stephanie and Stephanie’s daughter Atreya. Also surviving are two brothers; Warren Shreffler of Erie, Phillip Shreffler of CA; two sisters, Suzie Hartman of CA and Melissa White of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street Erie, PA 16506.
Services were private at the convenience of the family.
