Thomas Mark Scalise, age 74, of Nashville, TN and formerly of Erie passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Nashville VA Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1948 in Erie, the son of the late Joseph and Marcella (Wagner) Scalise.
Thomas served in combat during the Vietnam War and was awarded three Purple Hearts for injuries received during the war. After leaving military service, he worked at the City of Erie Water Treatment Plant as a Plant Operator. He also loved real estate and worked for Naz Servidio Realty for many years.
Thomas was a true entrepreneur and owned and operated Scalise’s Colonial Pizza for many years, and was planning to open his record store, Apple Blossom Records when he passed.
His hobbies included real estate, gardening, everything to do with music, fishing, and traveling to his vacation homes in Colorado and Florida.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; a brother, Francis Jude Scalise, and a nephew, Keith Scalise.
Thomas is survived by two sons, Justin Thomas Scalise and his wife Angela Shields Scalise and Adam Joseph Scalise and his wife Jackie. He is the proud grandfather of Ava, Lucas, Leonardo, and Beau and is the brother of Joe Scalise, Bill Scalise (Eileen), Bobby Scalise (Cindy), Joyce Hampy (Tony), and Barb Machuga (Dick). Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Saturday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A private burial will be at the Waterford Cemetery
