Thomas Russell Merrill

Thomas Russell Merrill, age 79, of New York City, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. 

He was born in New York City on May 13, 1945.   

Tom was a graduate of Fairview High School and received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University.

Tom started his retail sales career at Alexander’s Department Store in New York City and moved into a sales management role for Barney’s Men’s Store in Manhattan, where he worked until his retirement.

Tom loved his life in the Big Apple.  He also had an appreciation for world travel, having visited every continent in the world.  Tom was a big supporter of UNICEF and supported them by purchasing greeting cards to send to family and friends.  Tom was also a lover of the arts and culture and enjoyed the many museums and theaters in New York. 

In addition to his parents, Charles and Mary Merrill, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Charles.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Charlene) of Rochester, NY, Robert (Catherine) of Erie, PA, Michael (Jennifer) of Holland, MI and Paula Merrill of Solon, OH.  Also surviving are his many nephews and nieces.
