Thomas McMahon

Our very dear Thomas McMahon passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Born on January 20, 1951, the son of Richard and Nancy McMahon, Tom was a life-long resident of Erie. He attended St. Andrew School and graduated in 1969 from Technical Memorial. Throughout his working career Tom ( T-Mac) was a proud member of Plumbers and Pipe-Fitters Local 47.

As an avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed year-round fishing on Lake Erie, feeding the ducks and fishing at Walnut Creek. He relished time at the “McMahon Camp”. Tom loved to share his bounty of walleye, perch, deer and fresh vegetables from his garden with friends, neighbors and family. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and was happy to attend the Master’s in 2014 with his brother-in-law Frank. The Pittsburgh Steelers won many Super Bowls because of Tom’s staunch loyalty as a fan. Tom was also one of the original “Bay Rats” and was a member of the Sons of Lake Erie.

Family indeed was his focus in life and Tom will be greatly missed and always remembered by his family and many friends. Survivors include his loving wife Deborah (Carnes); children Shelley, Dennis (Amy), Andrew (Amber), and Daniel (Laura) McMahon, Jeffrey Jones and Amy Angelone (Anthony). Tom cherished his grandchildren, Kayla, Chandler, Marissa, Elijah, Bryson, and Hailey, and great-grandchildren Cevon, Major, and Taysom. Until the day he died, Tom’s best friends were his brothers Mickey (Patty), Joseph and Mark McMahon. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law Carol Przybycin (Frank), Patti Vendetti (Chester), Kristin Talarico (Tom), and brother-in-law Chuck Carnes (Debby), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are warmly invited to call at Burton Quinn Scott Funeral Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street on Thursday, June 1,2023 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm to be followed by a Prayer Service with Fr. Michael Ferrick.
