Thomas C. Fye age 73, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Oil City, PA on January 26, 1941, a son of the late Clarence E. and Hazel Keeley Fye.
Tom graduated from Titusville High School and went on to receive his Associates Degree at Penn State Behrend.
He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for over 50 years at CMI formerly Erie City Iron Works and Zurn Industries.
He was an active member of Wayside Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. He volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and participated in five mission trips for Hurricane Katrina recovery.
Tom was an avid golfer and bowler and loved watching all types of sports. He was a big Penn State, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was a handyman who helped with many kinds of projects. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Fye.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Altman Fye; two daughters, Tracy Fye Weatherhogg and her husband John of Vermont and Bobbi Jo Fye of Erie; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Emma and Tyler Weatherhogg and Joey Turner.
Friends may call at the Wayside Presbyterian Church 1208 Asbury Road (North of the Airport) Erie, PA 16505, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with The Rev. Keith Sundberg and The Rev. Martha (Missy) Shiverick co-officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wayside Presbyterian Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
