Therese Hammerman

Therese Marie Hammerman age 87, of Erie, passed away quietly at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie on Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born in Erie, PA on September 24, 1929 a daughter of the late Charles J. and Anna Giglio Jenks. She was a 1947 graduate of Academy High School and worked over thirty years as a retail clerk with Carlisle’s Clothing Store. Therese loved baking, cooking, gardening and had a passion for cats. Her greatest joy was her family and especially all the grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Jenks. In addition to her husband Edward, Therese is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Breece of Erie, a granddaughter, Laurie Breece Nelson (Kenneth) of North East, PA, a grandson, Michael Breece (Heather) of Philadelphia, PA, 11 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, two brothers; Joseph Jenks of Inola, OK and Vincent Jenks of Erie. She also leaves a sister, Joyce Volk of Erie and many nieces and nephews along with a godchild, Linda.

Friends and family may call at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16510 on Monday from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm and are invited to services there on Tuesday at 11:00 am.
