Theresa Markey

Theresa (Terry) N. Markey, age 90, of Millcreek Township passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Fairview Manor.

She was born February 17, 1933, in Meadville, PA, the middle daughter to the late Charlotte Lukasik and Marion Maziarz.

Terry, as she was called by family and friends, united her marriage to Virgil G. Markey Jr. at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church of Meadville, PA on November 1, 1969. Virgil and she were together for 23 years until his passing on April 9, 1992.

Before her marriage to Virg, Terry was educated at St. Brigid Grade School, class of 1946. Then went on to attend Meadville High School, class of 1950. She loved school and all that life’s wonderful joy’s had to bring from music, art, and poetry to coming from a family of 9 (6 boys and 3 girls). There were many joyful times and also sad times for this large family. Her mother died when she was 10, Terry stepped up to help and care for her 3 younger siblings (Joe-8, Martha-6, Richard-18 months).

Theresa is survived by her son, Virgil Markey III.

Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family in St. Brigid Cemetery in Meadville, PA.

Services are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie.
