Theresa Ann Freeman

Theresa Ann Freeman, 62, of Millcreek, passed away on May 30, 2023 after a difficult battle with cancer.

Theresa was born to Melford and Martha (Chromik) Headley on June 19, 1960. She graduated from Northwestern High School and Erie County Technical School in 1978. Theresa was a dedicated employee of Pleasant Ridge Manor for over forty years, working as a certified nursing assistant, then joining the Activities Department. She gave selflessly of her time and was a bright light for countless residents, whether through her baking classes, giving manicures, or celebrating holidays. 

In 1998, she met James  Freeman, at a blind date set up by their friends, the McDonalds. They married in 2001, creating a beautiful blended family with their children, Michelle, Jessica, and Joshua.  

Theresa loved spending time with her husband outdoors, especially camping, fishing, gardening, and watching sunsets at Presque Isle. She was an outstanding baker who made delicious cookies, especially at Christmas, as well as pies and cakes for all occasions. Family meant everything to Theresa — supporting her kids sports and arts activities as they were growing up, enjoying the simplicity of family dinners, and in recent years, reading books to her grandson, Keyode Jr.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Melford and Martha Headley, her dear sister, Patricia Smock, her in-laws, Howard and Eileen Freeman, and a brother-in-law, Thomas Freeman.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Freeman of Millcreek and her children Michelle (Joshua) Villar of New York, NY, Jessica (Keyode) Rogers of Richmond, VA, Joshua (Stefanie) Freeman of Pittsburgh, PA, and her grandson Keyode Rogers Jr. She is also survived by sisters Barbara (Mark) Davies of McKean, Beatrice (Thomas) Heath of Millcreek, Veronica (James) Fulton of East Springfield, brother Gregory Headley of Albion, brother-in-law Roger Smock of Cranesville, Bill and Lori Freeman of Cambridge Springs, Bob and Dawn Freeman of Virginia Beach, VA, and several nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will be held at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 West 26 Street, Erie, PA 16506 on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Albion Cemetery.
