Theresa Dzikowski

Theresa Michalski Dzikowski, 81, of Millcreek, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Vincent Health Center.

Theresa was born in Erie on July 13, 1934 to the late Peter A. and Frances V. Ambroziak Michalski.

Theresa attended St. Hedwig Grade School and graduated from St. Benedict Academy in 1953. She worked at Zurn Industries as a secretary for ten years before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.

Theresa will be remembered for her gracious hospitality and gentle nature. She was a talented seamstress and passed her knowledge to her family. She liked crossword puzzles, old movies, and music. A natural teacher, her patience and caring for her children and grandchildren will never be forgotten. She was also a devoted wife to her husband, who remained the love of her life and best friend until the end.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Maria; brothers Edward "Mike", Joseph, Frank, Stanley, Benedict, and John Michalski; and sisters Helen Zielinski and Mary Michalski (who died in infancy).

Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert Dzikowski; daughters Beth Ann Dzikowski and Christina Warner (Kirk) of Erie, and Carolyn Dzikowski (Bill Wrbican) of State College; and grandchildren Chelsea and Ashley Warner, and Samantha and Nicholas Wrbican. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave), Erie on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday are invited to attend a prayer service there at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church 2401 W 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506 with the Rev. Matthew Kujawinski officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
