Theresa G. (Sutula) Agostine, age 91, of Erie passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at Brevillier Village where she had resided for the past 10 years. She was born March 10, 1930 in Erie the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve Czajkowski Sutula.
Theresa was a 1948 graduate of St. Benedict Academy and had worked alongside her parents in the family business, Sutula’s Market. She later worked at Erie Resistor, St. Vincent Hospital and retired as a nurse’s aide from Abington Crest Nursing Home.
She was a woman of strong faith and was known for her charismatic smile and warm hugs, which will be missed. She had an affinity for sewing and various crafts. Theresa was also well known for her culinary skills and will be missed for her holiday spreads. She also enjoyed gardening, home remodeling, and most important, spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Julio (Rusty) Agostine who died in 2008 along with a brother, Edward A. Sutula and a sister, Barbara Baltes.
Theresa is survived by her five children; Therese Allen of Punta Gorda, FL; Rory Agostine of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Barry Agostine and his wife Nancy of Erie; Pam Lewis and her husband Brian of Denmark Twp., OH; and Jim Agostine and his wife Gina of Erie. She is survived by 2 granddaughters, 9 grandsons, 16 great-granddaughters and 8 great-grandsons. Also surviving are her brothers, Chester Sutula and his wife Janie, Raymond Sutula and his wife Ginger, Gary Sutula and his wife Anita, and Michael Sutula and his wife Susan.
There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
