Theodore Proba

Theodore John  Proba, age 71, of Erie died Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home. He was born  June 23, 1944 in Schonstedt, Germany the son of the late Stanley and Josephine Proba. Theodore came to the United States on December 7,1951. He was a graduate of Academy High School and worked at Haysite Manufacturing until his retirement in 2006.
Ted loved working outdoors, traveling and playing poker with family and friends. He was also a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Zukor Club.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Frank and Jessie Sadowski; a brother, Joseph Proba; a sister, Teresa Zukowski along with an infant brother and sister.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara Sadowski Proba along with his loving daughter, Heidi Benton and her husband Jason of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is the grandfather of Jonas and Jillian Benton and is the brother of Alice Silka, Anita Jagovdik, Christine Fialkowski, and Chester Proba (Peggy). Also surviving are 2 brothers-in-law, Jim and Steve Sadowski and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Friday at 11:00 AM in St. George Catholic Church. Burial will be private.
