Terry Lee Plyler

Terry Lee Plyler, age 74, of Girard, passed away Friday April 14, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on December 22, 1948, in Erie, PA, a son of the late Rozelle and Ruth Garloch Plyler and his stepmom, Virginia Phillips Plyler.

Terry worked as a laborer at Erie Malleable Iron for 30 years and later as a landscaper.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed mowing lawns, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and pro wrestling, loved picnics with his family and cooking, especially for Fourth of July celebrations. He enjoyed attending flea markets and was a great storyteller with a unique sense of humor. He also loved jigsaw puzzles and his cat, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers; a daughter, Sherri Ann Plyler Ballard; a nephew, Craig Plyler and his best friend, Jim Miller.

Terry is survived by the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Rose Plyler; a daughter, Kelly Plyler; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Cody Brewer) Plyler, Adam (Allie) Ballard and Eric Ballard; a great grandson and light of Papa’s life, Payden Ballard; and 2 grand dogs, Rosco and Nova.  Terry is further survived by two sisters, Martha Lou Graham and Mary Lyle; nephews, Larry (Sandy) Plyler, Tim (Pam) Plyler, Brian (Diane) Plyler and Andy (Patti) Plyler as well as other nieces and nephews.

Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home 525 Main Street E, Girard.  Family will be having a private Celebration of Life at a later time.
