Taylor Nicole Miller, age 27, of Fairview, lost her battle with mental illness and addiction on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at her residence.
She was born in Erie on September 16, 1993 a daughter of Keith and Maria Seippele Miller of Fairview.
Taylor graduated from Fairview High School in 2012 and went on to attend Gannon University, Boston University, and Penn State Behrend where she was studying Nursing.
She was a big advocate for mental illness and addiction, and in January of 2014 she started the Facebook page HOPE- Heroin Overdose Prevention in Erie. Within a short amount of time, the page grew with followers and helped raise awareness for the increasing amounts of tragic young deaths happening as a result of heroin overdoses. The page has helped many people throughout the community and allowed people to share personal stories and show support to others. Taylor loved cats and especially loved spending time with her family. She also loved Boston, learning new things, astronomy, and opossums. She loved helping people and was instrumental in guiding countless people to the road to recovery.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marguerite Seippele; paternal grandfather, Thomas Miller; cousin, Tyler Culp; and two uncles, Roger Miller and Stuart Wounderly.
In addition to her parents, Taylor is survived by a brother, Collin Miller; sister, Mikaela Miller; maternal grandfather, Raymond Seippele; paternal grandmother, Linda Miller; aunts and uncles, Anne Foster (Dana), Stacey Wisniewski (Jim), Katie Clement (Ryan), Michael Miller (Kelly), Mark Miller (Lena) and Ronda Wounderly; great aunt and uncle, Don and Marie Bebell; Godson, Cameron Clement, and many cousins. She is further survived by family friend, Ethan Halmi, her beloved cat Moo Cow, and cat cousins Luna and Kip. She will be forever deeply missed by her family and friends, who loved her and were so proud of her accomplishments.
Please honor Taylor’s battle by continuing this fight; if you’re struggling with addiction or mental Illness, seek help. She fought so hard to remove the stigma attached to mental illness and addiction so that anyone struggling could receive treatment and experience eventual recovery. Taylor’s wish was always that we all be kinder and more compassionate to others who are struggling in life.
