Suzanne Louise “Suzy” Sheldon Loesel age 77, of Erie, passed away at UPMC Hamot on July 30, 2017. She was born in Ashtabula, OH on April 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Carroll and Edna Brewer Sheldon. After graduating from Ashtabula High School in 1958, Suzy studied at Ohio State University and received a degree as an X-Ray Technician. She worked many years in the health field for Radiology Associates and various hospitals in the Erie area.
She was an avid card player who enjoyed her bridge club in Erie and the Tara Woods Euchre Club when spending winters in Florida. She also loved playing cards on the computer specializing in three or four different games. She enjoyed travel and made several trips to Europe including the wedding of her friend’s son in France. She was courageous, while not a born and bred sailor she was brave enough to board their boat and head out for a life at sea ending up in the Florida Keys spending eight wonderful winters with new cruising friends. Among other things she was a talented artist who love drawing Red Cardinals and collecting Cardinal “things”, a day out with her Lunch Bunch Gal Pal was special.
In addition to her parents, “Suzy” was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Maya Eisley Loesel in 1995, her sister Janice Lee Sheldon (Edward Ethan) Allen She is survived by her husband George “Gib” Loesel along with two sons; Matthew C. (Marni McAllister) Loesel and Michael E. Loesel. She also leaves many grandchildren and several great grandchildren, her nieces; Kelly, Kyle and Kitty. Friends may join the family at the Ferncliff House, 1 Ferncliff Beach, to celebrate Suzy’s life, on Saturday at 12:00. Burial in Erie Cemetery will be private.
