Suzanne Kubeja

Suzanne (Richardson) Kubeja, age 88, of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Erie, on October 9, 1928, the daughter of the late John Kessel and Charlotte (Rieley) Richardson.

Sue graduated from Academy High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO.  She completed brokerage training in New York City and was there for the Great Blackout of 1965.  Sue was the first woman stockbroker in Erie and was employed in that capacity with various Erie firms for nearly 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert D. Kubeja and her brother, Jack Richardson, and his wife, Marjorie (Garwood) Richardson.

Sue is survived by her son, J. Mark Kubeja (Judy) of Girard, as well as a niece and several nephews.

Private services and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard.

Memorials may be made to Save the Manatee Club, 500 N. Maitland Ave., Suite 210, Maitland, FL 32751, as she enjoyed the manatees near her winter home on Marco Island, FL; or to Goodell Gardens and Homestead, P.O Box 156, Edinboro, PA 16412, where she funded a garden in honor of the Kubeja and Richardson Families.
