Susan "Trudi" Featsent

Susan “Trudi” (Graybill) Featsent, 69, of Fairview, PA, was reunited with her soul mate and husband, Larry Featsent, on Tuesday August 26, 2014. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born in Massillon, Ohio, on August 1st, 1945, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude Graybill.

Trudi was all things ‘Tiger’, graduating from Massillon Washington High School in 1963, and working for, and retiring in 2009 from, Fairview School District as the Head Administrative Assistant. Trudi loved her day-to-day interactions with her work associates, the students, teachers and alumni and was recognized as Fairview School District’s Person of the Year in 2009.

After high school, Trudi attended Ohio State and Kent State Universities. She settled with her family in Fairview, PA in 1976, where she gained many of her closest friends.

All who knew Trudi could describe her as a wonderful woman, with an outgoing personality, was always willing to listen and especially a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a true friend to all those she met. Trudi enjoyed her grandchildren, her work, playing cards with friends, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, along with traveling to see family. She supported the Arts and was an avid piano player.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Featsent and a brother, Jackie Graybill.

Trudi is survived by her three children; daughter Kelly Merski, and husband Chris, of Fairview, son Greg Featsent and his wife Kristen, of Cumming, GA and son, Keith Featsent of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, Lauren and Leigh Merski, and Chase and McKaylie Featsent; a sister, Roberta Rankl of Massillon, OH; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6-8pm at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, in Girard. A short service celebrating Trudi’s life will be held on Saturday at 2pm in the All Faith Chapel with Reverend Bill Miller celebrant. Burial in St. John Cemetery.
