Susan J. Shepegi

Susan J. Shepegi age 72 of Cranesville passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Vincent Heath Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Erie on September 11, 1950, the daughter of the late Frederick “Fritz” and Jane Cooper Stork. 

She was a 1968 graduate of Fairview High School and had worked as a secretary at Automation Devices for several years out of high School.

Sue had a love and passion for farming. She was a stay-at-home mom and took care of the 6 generation dairy farm that she and Larry managed for many years.  She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Fairview. She loved horses growing up on her parents’ farm in Fairview. Sue was so involved in the Erie County 4-H programs and taking animals to the local fairs her entire life. Her family meant the world to her. She was the best Mom and Mimi to her two girls and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Shepegi of Cranesville; her two daughters, Jill (Matt) Howard and Jennifer (Luke) Reiser; all of Cranesville; eight grandchildren: Cooper and his fiance Joanna; Caleb; Cullen; Camden, Desiree, Zach, Mady and Macee; and one great granddaughter Hadley.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East Girard on Thursday from 4 to 7pm and are invited to attend services at the St. James Lutheran Church, Fairview on Friday at 11am. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
