Susan Michalegko

Susan Kay Michalegko, 59, of Erie, PA slipped the bonds of earth on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness.  She was born on September 18, 1958 in Wellsville, NY to the late Paul and Barbara Costello Michalegko.  She grew up in Genesee, PA.

Susan was a graduate of Northern Potter High School.  She attended Penn State Behrend and Gannon University.  For many years, she was employed as the Banquet/Special Events Coordinator at the Erie Maennerchor Club.  She enjoyed playing league darts and was an accomplished pastry baker.  Susan was a generous, caring, compassionate person who frequently put others and their needs ahead of herself.

She is survived by her significant other, Robert Anderson; her sisters, Paula Michalegko (Chuck Guagliardi), Pamela Michalegko, Joan Michalegko Todd (William) and her brothers, Richard (Maria), David and Joseph (Cheryl).  She is further survived by her three nieces and five nephews.  She leaves behind her beloved dog, Wiley.

No calling hours will be observed and the burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In keeping with Susan’s kind, giving spirit, the family requests that memorials be made to Erie Homes for Children and Adults, 226 East 27t Street, Erie, PA 16504 or the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10^th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
