Susan Jata

Susan Ann Jata age 57, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 8, 2016 at her residence.

She was born in Erie on September 3, 1958, a daughter of Jack and Penelope Malovich of Erie.

Susan graduated from Strong Vincent High School and worked in Janitorial services and childcare.

She enjoyed collecting pigs, turtles, frogs and glass shoes. Susan loved living life and had a passion for helping others.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Gregory Needham of Erie, a sister, Jennifer Malovich Ferretti of Erie; a niece, Alexandra Ferretti of Erie; three aunts, Cathy Hamme, Susan Stone, and Robin Caravaglia all of Erie; and 8 cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 W 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502 on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until the time of prayer service at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Daryl Grimes.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 4701 Old French Raod, Erie, PA 16509 with the Right Rev. Sean Rowe and Rev. Don Baxter officiating. Burial to follow in Erie Cemetery.
