Susan Hawley Colvin age 58, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family after a 3 year battle with cancer.
She was born in Erie on October 15, 1958 a daughter of Richard Hawley and Dolores Hawley Ziegler of Erie.
She graduated from Seneca High School and worked at Arthritis Associates for 18 years.
Susan was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, crocheting, baking and watching cowboy and western movies.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph “Butch” Colvin in 2014 and two brothers, Patrick and David.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Pamela Colvin and Rechelle Bynum and her husband Charles, all of Erie; four grandchildren, Marissa, Trevor, Skylar, and Jayden “J.J.”; seven siblings, Danny Hawley, Anna Hawley Lee, Theresa Dahn, Peter Hawley, Rebecca Collins, Lisa Boehm, and Dr. Patricia Hawley; a step sister, Mandy Malinowski; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her In-laws, Ralph and Jean Colvin, Jr. also survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue) on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 925 Morton Street, Camden, NJ 08104 or to the Regional Cancer Center 2500 W. 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
