Steven James Burkhart, age 35, of Erie, died Monday, May 5, 2014 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on
July 22, 1978 a son of Larry and Debra Withrow Burkhart. Steven was a graduate of East High School and had
been a manager with Rent One.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Kenneth C. Burkhart; his maternal grandfather, James
Witherow.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Olson Burkhart; his children, Aiden, Brennan and Cameron; his father and mother-in-law, Donald R. and Deborah L. Olson; his brother, Christopher (Danielle) Burkhart, of Northeast, his sister, Aimee Burkhart (Joel) Graham, his brother-in-law Richard M. (Colleen) Olson, brother-in-law, Timothy A. Olson and sister-in-law, Kelley Cook, all of Erie. He is further survive by his paternal grandmother, Audrey Burkhart, Fairview and Betty (Luther) Funderburg, of Gibson, GA. His nieces and nephews, Jayla, Gianna and Kobe Cook; Nicholas and Noah Olson; Tyler, Addison, Laynie Graham; and Colin, Lazer, Jordon (Kelsey) Potts, Kaleb Burkhart and Kaden DeSantis; and his best friend, Mark Carrick. Steven enjoyed playing with his children, tattoos, playing cards, fishing, softball, and was a great Buffalo Bills Fan.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home 2532 Norcross Road on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Monday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1531 East Grandview Blvd, on Monday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Raymond Hahn as the celebrant.
Burial will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family, c/o the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510, for the establishment of a college fund for his children.
